United Methodist Men

Mission

To Help Men Grow In Christ, So Others May Know Christ.

 Goal

Our goal is to empower the ministry of Jesus Christ through men within the congregations of the UMC.

Pathway

Our pathway is a lifelong commitment to spiritual growth to maturity as Christ followers. Our spiritual formation is marked by spiritual reproduction, as our faith passes on in others.

Why is men’s ministry important?

Men lead others best by modeling Jesus Christ in thoughts, words, and deeds.
Spiritual maturity is signified in spiritual reproduction, as the faith of mature disciples passes on to others.
Men growing in Christ become effective spiritual leaders in their homes and congregations, working as partners with their spouses and congregational leaders-both lay and clergy.
Spiritually growing men help congregations to become vital and alive.
Grace UMM organizes projects that benefit both the church and the community.

Grace UMM meet on the third Saturday of each month at 10 am at Grace UMC.

Crosslines Volunteers

Crosslines Inspires hope for food-insecure families, seniors, and children by addressing immediate hunger needs with access to food and essential items. Crosslines is an outreach of the Council of Churches of the Ozarks.

Crosslines* – where the lines of compassion and concern cross the lines of human need.

Crosslines’ assistance is critical for the nearly 25% of our community who are unsure where their next meal will come from.
Crosslines is committed to addressing needs in an environment that fosters community, dignity, and compassion. As the largest client-direct food pantry in Greene County, Missouri, Crosslines serves nearly 70,000 people annually through a client-choice pantry, mobile food distributions, holiday assistance, and multiple senior food programs.
For 46 years, Crosslines has provided emergency food assistance to families in Greene County and continues to expand the service footprint beyond pantry and into the community and area schools through mobile distribution. Grace UMC participates in this ministry with volunteer service, food and financial support. Once a month, Grace members and friends work alongside members of our partner church, Messiah Lutheran, to distribute food items to clients.
Grace volunteers on the 1stThursday of the month. Our hours are 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Anytime you can serve between those hours would be helpful.

For more information contact the church office at 417-869-0765.

Grace Dog Ministry

Grace Dog Ministry is a new and growing organization.

We currently offer free spay and neuter services for dogs owned by members of Springfield’s unsheltered community.

Blessing of the Animals.

Additionally, we provide free transportation for the dogs to and from the veterinarian’s office.

Our ministry also supplies these pets with food, collars, leashes, and blankets.

Breaking Bread & Building Bridges

Each week, the Grace UMC meal team prepares a home-cooked meal for Safe to Sleep, a shelter for homeless women, and for Youth Connect, an outreach program for at-risk youth.
The team sends 40 meals to Safe to Sleep and 30 meals to Youth Connect. They begin preparing the meals at 2 PM each Wednesday to ensure they are ready for delivery by 5:30 PM and again at 7:00 PM.

In addition to our weekly meals, the team prepares sack lunches for individuals experiencing homelessness. These lunches can be picked up at Grace from 11 AM to 1 PM, Monday through Friday.
Each  lunch includes a sandwich, chips, and a drink.  Recipients may also receive gloves and/or socks.  Grace has distributed as many as 300 lunches in a single week.  If you would like to contribute to our ministry, feel free to bring items such as peanut butter, small bags of chips, and bottled water to Grace UMC, 600 S. Jefferson, East Entrance, from 11 am to 1 pm, Monday through Friday.

Your generous monetary donations are always appreciated and make a real difference! Thank you for considering supporting our cause!
