The mission of the Grace UMC Women’s Crisis Cold Weather Shelter is to provide a warm, safe place to sleep on freezing nights for women who have no other shelter. Our shelter is basic and has restrooms (not showers), warm drinks, simple foods, cots, and blankets.
Shelter season is November 1 to March 31, when temperatures drop below 32 degrees.
Shelter hours are 8:15 pm – 7:00 am
Volunteers work in teams of 2 and at least 1 must be a woman.
Volunteers can take turns sleeping in four-hour shifts, but at least one must be awake at all times.
